Convocation-The Day My Shutter Stood Still

2-3 bulan ni memang bulan convocation. Last month it was mine, and this month Raniya had her concert (mak dia bubuh semua gambo and video dia dah) and also my minik's long overdue concert....ehh concert lak, convocation.

It was an event that was really awaited by my minik as she always mention that it is not the same during diploma, where there are no robes to where, the excitement is different. I dare not disagree but one thing that i agree is that you can always feel the aura of excitement by looking at the faces of these grads'. Beratur panjang-oanjang nak masuk dewan dengan muka berseri-seri, Melayu, India, Cina pastu OUM lak ramai from East Malaysia ada. Semua hensem-hensem dan lawa-lawa. Keluarga yang datang bangga dengan kejayaan mereka. It really touches me inside (but not to the point aku nak ambik Phd).

Anyway, it was really long overdue, rasanya kalau tak salah she started the course masa tahun 2005 ke 2006 and finally after some hard times, one marriage and satu operasi melahirkan anak, pada November 2010 akhirnya Pn Nor Fahanaz Fairuz Mohd Nazur telah bergelar seorang graduan.

Tapi...disebalik kegembiraan, ada juga kesedihan. Pada hari yg sama, di saat ku duduk di dewan PWTC di posisi yg amat strategik untuk mengambil long shot menggunakan lens 200m macam seorang sniper, my 4 years old trusted camera died on me.

Sebelum tu dah testing bayekk punye, ambik tele-lens, ambik potrait, macam-macam style lah. Try focus muka para-para graduan kat bawah lah, try nak zoom kat podium kat atas stage yg jauhh jer. Nak try tengok kalau bole focus kat lobang idong awek yg tgh standby kat atas pentas. Semuanya as a preperation untuk tunggu Fahanaz ambik scroll nanti.

Tiba tang Azman Hashim berucap, this guy likes to talk. Definately. And, at first it was kewl because he doesn't follow any script or those scrpts are just guidelines. But after 45 minutes, it gets really really long...so jadilah ngantuk, so tertido lah kejap. Tetiba makcik disebelah kejut hulur biskut sambil berkata, "makcik kalau tunggu lelama gini yg jadi lapar nih. Makcik takleh tahan, gastrik".

Kemudian nak test sekali lagi tetiba kedengaran bunyi yg sebelum ni pernah dengar iaitu bunyi shutter cam rosak-rosak kemudian camera terus jeng. No problem, perkara biasa. Off-on, good as new. Tapi...kali ini, dia tidak mau hidup semula. 3-4 kali buat benda sama, tak menjadi. Hentak-hentak sedikit, tak jadi apa. Tukar-tukar lens, takde hasil.

Dynax 5D Konica Minolta was pronounced date around 16:25 20th November 2010, selepas 4 tahun bersama-sama setelah diperkenalkan oleh Cheekong. And now, i'm camera-less. And rugilah kerana tak dapat ambik gambar banyak-banyak lagi di hari bersejarah minik.

To buy a new one....hmmm. no plans yet, no urgency. and no money to spare(ni sebab utama). Will have to make do with what i have at the moment.

All ends well, lepas mengharungi lautan manusia-manusia berjubah kami pun pulang dan makan KFC pasal semua orang dah lapar.
