A typical Malaysian culture, lepak kedai mamak. Yup, mamak restaurants are not what they are 5-8 years ago. Of course, the big screens are there before..but now the hype is tremendous. Tell me, mana-mana kedai mamak yg kat area Klang Valley yang tak penuh. Lebih-lebih lagi once EPL season starts back. Masa World Cup, EURO, Piala Malaysia toksah cakap lah. Ada sekali dulu, zaman AF pun dia ada gak.
Heck, a friend of mine even made a thesis on the emergence and success of mamak restaurants. Now, with added cleanliness and also wifi availability. This only proofs that mamak is moving in the right direction.
But, what we always see here is that, where there is people, there are always the army of beggers.
Now, semua orang ada pandangan masing-masing tentang penjual-penjual tisu ini. Ada yg kata kesian, ada yg kata jangan di layan.
Okey..this is my personal view and my personal practice. Not to be followed by everyone else.
I would normally standby some small change for them. Not to encouraged, tapi niat kita nak membantu lah(walaupun mungkin dia leh dapat 100 meja bagi dia seringgit).
Yang dewasa aku tak heran sangat, but what about the children???
Yang datang bukan sekali, tapi 3-4 kali muka yg lelain dan i 90% sure that they are not local. Ada yg comel, ada yg not so comel, ada yg muka sedih, ada yg cam bengis bila ko xbagi dia duit.
Kesian la aku tengok. Definately someone or a group is behind them (think of Slumdog Millionaire). Kesian bebudak kecik nih. Kenapalah nasib mereka begini.
Entahlah..just had to get this out of my chest.

I dont subscribe to the idea of giving alms to all tom ,dick and harry. But to whom my sympathy falls,I get back what I give .The joy of sharing,my small change. And I always pray that my children when they are in difficulties, they too might meet a hand that gives.
ReplyDeletesame here bro...same here
ReplyDeletehhhmm.. i practise this to the kids that sits at a corner and beg. Instead of giving them money, I'll buy them a pack of rice or any food and pass it to them. Guess it'd be better than money since I wouldn't know what the money will be use for and to whom they gave to. At least they have a full belly, I hope.
